Sam The Cat
Sam’s owner commissioned me after he had passed away. Sam was very near and dear to the family. The owner said she had a special relationship with Sam, and they often communicated through their eyes. She talked to me about the things he liked to do and where his happy place was. I sat with the photos provided and spoke with Sam, which I often do to create a relationship as I start to paint. Adding distinctive touches to my painting to tell Sam’s story, I presented the final piece to the owner. She hung the art on the wall, in the kitchen, over the place he used to like to sit. She says that in the morning, she looks at the painting and feels that she can still communicate with him by looking into his eyes.
